alexlovespaltrees Look. I don't know her.
I first came across this gem when MySpace was on its way up. When all of us got trained to expose our polished up and sophisticated side of our narcissism. She was singing "life's a party".
I don't think there is a artist that can express any better the state of happily mocking our emotions freed from the need to pity yourself. Comedy and to some might come across as kitsch and camp. But the world would have less boxes and measures if we all lived in Luna's head.
It would be just glitter I suppose.
Buy the damn thing.

It’s 4 o’clock in the afternoon I want to be happy again Oh the sun and the cars and the people conspire to drive me to tonic and gin I want to play seek and go hide In some cave far away from the din I’ll try the Cache Cache Cabaret At the Cache Cache Cabaret Where secrets go to play Where the married men forget they’re married men and just decide to be merry men and why not hit on Mary it’s okay. She likes it At the Cache Cache Cabaret At the Cache Cache Cabaret Where fingers tend to stray It’s surprising what can be titillating and much less lonely than masturbating Ohhhh but that’s happening too Careful where you put your shoe At the Cache Cache Cabaret Speaking of feet I do recall one time An Englishman divine Who started sucking my toes And stayed there a very long time I don’t know if he was a podiatrist Hell I don’t care and he’ll be missed At the Cache Cache Cabaret At the Cache Cache Cabaret Est-ce que parle vous français? Meme c’est no, no, no o Oui, oui, oui J’espere que tu est G, G G Qu’est ce qu’on va trouve On sait jamais At the Cache Cache Cabaret At the Cache Cache You’ll have a bash bash Who’s playing? Who cares? Just so long as we’re there We’ll do the hokey pokey That’s when things get really smokey It’s a swinging bar if you like to swing It’s a gas gas gas if you’re into that thing At the Cache Cache At the Cache Cache At the Cache Cache Cabaret

You can cut your throat Swing from a rope Take a pill Take a pill Take another You can take to drink Get thrown in the clink Have to talk to a shrink about your mother Chorus: (This is the sing-a-long part - so please sing along!) We're bored So bored There's a war going on somewhere We're free so free It's enough to make you start a war You can hide away Just sleep all day Stay in bed with your head under the covers You can cyber date Or masturbate Or wait to meet your perfect lover Chorus SING IT You can get so blue don't know what to do Life is bleak and it isn't any fun But you can solve all your problems Forget that you got'em If you blow your head off with a gun Chorus MARCH AROUND

Tease Me 02:08
Don’t make it easy If you want to please me Oh darling tease me Or I get bored Oh keep me frantic With your crazy antics Like that night on the Atlantic When you pushed me overboard I find it thrilling When you’re not willing You get top billing On my list of paramours Oh darling taunt me You’re eyes they haunt me Tell me you don’t want me I just want you more Why kiss when we could cry Why cuddle when we could say goodbye Why laugh why laugh Go ahead and laugh Oh cheri There will be no ennui If you tantalize me At every turn So don’t make it easy If you want to please me Oh darling tease me tease me tease me Or I get bored

This Room 03:54
I’m used to the clatter I’m used to the noise The giggles of girls The jeers from the boys The ins and the outs The ups and the downs The ordering takeout The send in the clowns I can’t stand the silence The accusing echo boom The heavy heavy emptiness impending doom Why am I the only one in this room? I’m used to hypocrisy and So called democracy I’m used to decay and to filth I’m used to the crying Incessant why oh whying The wringing of hands The clanging of bells The just for the hell of it The reek the stench the smell of it The despair in the thickening gloom Why am I the only one in this room? I know I’m off course I’ve consulted the maps The walls are too white I think it’s a trap I’ve retraced my steps jiggled the locks There seems no way out of this goddamned box I want to hear the mad yowling Feel the hunger growling The barking the baying the howling at the moon Why am I the only one in this room?

Traffic's wild tonight Diamond smiles her cocktail smiles Tonight she's in heavy disguise She looks at her watch to to clock the passing time Weather's mild tonight She wonders will they notice her eyes? She wonders will her glamour survive? And can they tell she's going down the third time? Oh everybody tries It's Dale Carnegie gone wild And Barabara Cartland's child Has long ago perfected the motionless glide And in the low voltage noise Diamond seems so sure and so poised She glitters for the bright young boys and says Love is for others for me it destroys The girl in the cake jumped out too soon by mistake Somebody said "This whole thing's half baked" Diamond lifts her glass and says "Cheers" She stands to one side there's no more to this than meets the eye Everybody drinks martinis dry and talks about styles and the latest clothes She did it with grace, She did with style She did it all before she died Oh I remember Diamond's smile Nobody saw her go They should have noticed cause her dress was cut so low and It only goes to show Ha! How many real men any of us know She went up the stairs Climbed up on her vanity chair Tied a lamé belt around the chandelier And went out kicking at the perfumed air She did it with grace She did it with style She did it all Before she died Oh I remember Diamond's smile

about

Luna Tart Austin, Texas

Luna Tart was discovered using the latest Phantomosonic technology. The phantomograph was able to detect the despair, heartbreak and loneliness trapped inside old gin bottles, nightgowns from nursing homes and discarded journals of the never famous.
